Keep Brazos Beautiful, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 volunteer and educational organization, founded Jack and Dorothy Miller in 1980. It became a certified affiliate of Keep America Beautiful in 1986 and of Keep Texas Beautiful in 1993.
The mission of Keep Brazos Beautiful is to educate and engage the citizens of Brazos County, Texas to keep their communities clean and beautiful. We hope that our efforts will also reduce some of the environmental factors that lead to crime, violence, disease, etc.
Keep Brazos Beautiful promotes the public interest, individual responsibility, community action, and pride in the Brazos County environment. We strive to inspire, facilitate, educate, coordinate, and build partnerships and programs help that improve the quality of life for all people. Among many other things, were involved in litter abatement, recycling and composting, resource conservation, and the beautification of streets and highways, parks and green spaces, school grounds, lake and stream banks, and other areas.
Keep Brazos Beautiful encourages the planting and preservation of trees, flowers, and plants, and has endorsed various projects that have created aesthetically pleasing displays.
We've helped make Brazos County the Crape Myrtle Capital of Texas.
Our membership consists of board members, government liaisons, and member volunteers. We have received numerous local and state awards for our efforts.
